ചേന്ദമംഗല്ലൂര് വിജയികള്
ദോഹ: രണ്ടാമത് മാക്(MAK) ഖത്തര് ഇന്റര് മഹല്ല് സ്പോര്ട്സ് ആന്ഡ് ഗയിംസ് മത്സരങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായി ഖത്തര് സ്പോര്ട്സ് ക്ലബ്ബില് വച്ച് നടത്തിയ സെവന്സ് ഫുട്ബോള് ടൂര്ണമെന്റില് ചേന്ദമംഗല്ലൂര് വിജയികളായി. ഇഞ്ചോടിഞ്ച് പോരാട്ടം നടന്ന ഫൈനലില് കരുത്തരായ മൂഴിക്കല് ടീമിനെയാണ് അവര് പരാജയപെടുതിയത്. ചേന്ദമംഗല്ലൂരിനു വേണ്ടി യൂനുസ്, ജംഷിദ്, മുക്താര് എന്നിവരും മൂഴിക്കലിനു വേണ്ടി നിസാറും ഗോളുകള് നേടി. ക്യാപ്റ്റന് അബ്ദുരഹിമാന്റെയും പ്രധിരോധ നിരയുടെയും പ്രകടനം ശ്രദ്ധേയമായിരുന്നു.
ചേന്ദമംഗല്ലൂര് ടീമിനായി ശാഹിദ് (ഗോള് കീപര്), സാജിദ് ഇടക്കണ്ടി, യൂനുസ്, അബ്ദു, അബ്ദുറഹ്മാന്, ജംഷിദ്, മുക്താര്, ശാനില്, അഫ്സല് എന്നിവര് ബൂട്ട് കെട്ടി. ചേന്ദമംഗല്ലൂര് നിവാസികളായ റഷീദ് കുരുബ്ര, സാജിദ് കെ . പി, യാസര്, അന്വര് സലിം എന്നിവര് മറ്റു മഹാല്ലുകള്ക്ക് വേണ്ടിയും കളിച്ചിരുന്നു.കോഴിക്കൊടിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളില് നിന്നായി 12 ടീമുകള് പങ്കെടുത്ത ടൂര്ണമെന്റില് മാക് രക്ഷാധികാരി സുബൈര് കോടപ്പന ഉല്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. മാക് പ്രസിഡന്റ് താഹിര്, സെക്രട്ടറി അസ്ലം ചെറുവാടി, ഗയിംസ് കണ്വീനര് സഫീര് ചേന്ദമംഗല്ലൂര് എന്നിവര് കളിക്കാരെ പരിചയപ്പെട്ടു. ഗെയിംസിലെ മറ്റിനങ്ങള് വരും ആഴ്ചകളില് നടക്കുന്നതാണ്. മുന് വര്ഷ ഓവറോള് വിജയികളായ ചേന്ദമംഗല്ലൂര് മഹല്ല് ഇത്തവണയും വിജയം ആവര്ത്തിക്കാനായുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങളിലാണ്.

പുഴയോരം കൃഷി സമ്പന്നം(20/2/2011)
പതിവു പോലെ ഈ വര്ഷവും പുഴയോര കൃഷി സജീവമാണ്. തെയ്യത്തുംകടവത്ത്, ആഞ്ചാലിലാണ് ഇത്തവണയും കൂടുതല് ആളുകള് കൃഷിക്കിറങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇക്കരയും അക്കരയും ഉള്ളവര് തെയ്യത്തുംകടവില് കക്കിരി,ചിരങ്ങ മുതല് പയറും വെണ്ടയും ഒക്കെ നട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. മാന്ട്ടികാക്കയും,മകള് സൈബുന്നീസയും,ടി.എന് അസീസും,അമ്പലക്കണ്ടി നജ്മുവും കൊടിയത്തുരില് നിന്ന് നസ്റുല്ല ടി.കെ യും അബ്ദുറഹിമാന് കാക്കയും ഒക്കെയുണ്ട്. രണ്ട് മാസം മുന്പ് വിത്തിട്ട് ഇപ്പോള് വിളവെടുപ്പ് തുടങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഊര്ജിതമായി നടക്കുന്ന പാലം പണി കാണാന് വരുന്നവരൊക്കെ കൃഷിയിടങ്ങള് കൂടി സന്ദര്ശിച്ച് അഭിനനന്ദനങ്ങളറിയിക്കാന് മറക്കാറില്ലെന്ന് ഈ കര്ഷകര് ആവേശ പൂര്വ്വം പറഞ്ഞു. സന്ദര്ശകരിലെ ചിരലെങ്കിലും അരിമ്പ് നുള്ളുനെന്ന പരിഭവവും വെബ് ടീമിനോടിവര് പങ്കു വെച്ചു. ഏതായാലും കഴിഞ്ഞ കുറച്ച് വര്ഷങ്ങളായി നാട്ടില് പലരും കൃഷിയോട് വര്ദ്ധിച്ച താല്പര്യം കാണിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. തൃക്കഴത്തും മാടായി ഭാഗത്തുമൊക്കെ പതിവ് കൃഷിക്കാര് രംഗത്തുണ്ട്.

പാലം: മാര്ച്ചോടു കൂടി പൂര്ത്തിയാകും
ഇരുവഴിഞ്ഞി പുഴക്ക് കുറുകെ ചേന്ദമംഗലൂരിനെയും കൊടിയത്തൂരിനെയും ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന തെയ്യത്തുകടവ് പാലം പണികള് മാര്ച്ചോടുകൂടി പൂര്ത്തിയാക്കുമെന്ന് കോണ്ട്രാക്റ്റ് എടുത്ത ഊരാലുങ്കള് സൊസൈറ്റി വൃത്തങ്ങള് അറിയിച്ചു.മെയ് മാസം നടക്കുന്ന നിയമസഭ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിന്റെ വിഞ്ജാപനം ഏപ്രില് ആദ്യത്തില് ഉണ്ടാവുമെന്നാണ് കരുതുന്നത്.അതിനു മുന്പായി പാലം ഗതാഗതത്തിന് തുറന്ന് കൊടുക്കാന് പറ്റുന്ന രീതിയില് പണികള് പൂര്ത്തിയാക്കാന് നിര്ദേശം കൊടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.എന്നാല് പാലം അടക്കം മുന്നൂറ് മീറ്റര് കഴിഞ്ഞുള്ള അപ്രോച്ച് റോഡിന്റെ പ്രവര്ത്തി ഇതോടൊപ്പം ഉണ്ടാവാന് സാധ്യത ഇല്ലെന്നാണ് അറിയുന്നത്. മൂന്ന് സ്പാനുകളിലായി നിര്മ്മിക്കുന്ന പാലത്തിന്റെ രണ്ടു സ്പാനുകള് ഇതിനകം പൂര്ത്തിയായിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതിനിടെ നിര്മ്മാണ പുരോഗതി വിലയിരുത്താനായി സ്ഥലം എം.എല്.എ ശ്രി. ജോര്ജ്ജ് എം.തോമസ് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം തെയ്യത്തും കടവ് സന്ദര്ശിച്ചു.

SIO FOOTBALL TEAM WIN IN MANGLORE
Mangalore, December 27: The Kerala zone team snatched a rousing victory against the aggressive West Bengal zone team in the thrilling final of the ‘SIO Reformation Cup 2010’ that concluded at the District Football Ground adjacent to Nehru Maidan here on Sunday evening.
The five day tournament, which started on Wednesday, December 22, was organised by the Students Islamic Organisation for its own cadres with the intention of cultivating a sense of brotherhood and constructive competitiveness among them and to explore the possibilities of bringing reformation to sports as well.
The final match was truly a grand feast for the hundreds of spectators gathered across the ground. Both Kerala and West Bengal teams showed their extraordinary sportsmen spirit in the field till the end of the match. However, the Malayali boys prevailed over their Bengali counterparts in the inevitable sudden-death round, after both sides were locked 4-4 in the penalty shootout.
Interestingly, despite the aggressive play displayed by the both teams, the goal keepers of both sides did not give any opportunity to enter the strikes of opposition players into the goal posts and the score of both halves of the final match was nil.
The victory celebration by Kerala team converted into humbleness and gratefulness when Adhan resounded in the ground. Players and audience offered Magrib Namaz together in the field and expressed gratitude to the Creator for creating a benevolent atmosphere.
At the concluding ceremony, apart from the trophy and runners up prizes, several individual prizes were also distributed for outstanding performances.
The captain of Kerala zone, who scored highest goals in the tournament, bagged the player of tournament award, while Shakeel Ansari of West Bengal zone secured the best goal keeper award. Afthab Alam of Bihar zone was declared as the emerging player of the tournament.
A Prabhakar Das, Director of Netaji Yellappa Memorial Hospital, Thokkottu, who was the chief guest of the valedictory ceremony, said the Football ground of Nehru Maidan has produced a number of great footballers in the past several decades. “However the condition of Maidan never improved owing to the negligence of administration,” he lamented.
Suhail KK, the outgoing National President of SIO, congratulating all the players who participated in the tournament said the organisation has tried to create a new example through this event on how to play ethically and morally on the field and step towards success too. “The players showed their sportive spirit along with moral values,” he added.
Giving a new definition to the sports, he said: “Sports should not be for time waste; it is for creative utilization of time and space.”
Suhail also said that the religion of Islam is not mere a course of spirituality, but a complete code of civilisation with spirituality as its base.
DM Aslam, President of DK Football Association, Khasim, the match referee, Atheequrrahman, National Convener of the tournament, Shoukath Ali, outgoing State President of SIO, Ashfaq Shareef, Western Region President of SIO, KM Ashraf, Mangalore Unit President of JIH and a galaxy of office bearers of SIO and its patron organisation Jama’ath-e-Islami Hind were present on the occasion.

Arts and cultural activities
Kodiyatur has a persistent legacy in arts as well as cultural activities. There were local poets and mappila artists lived in Kodiyathur during those olden era. The people of 
Kodiyathur composed the tunes of ‘Mappila Pattu’ in its original style, rhyme, rhythm and method.
Hussan Kodiyathur and his family still keep that reputation of the village, through his daughter Nadiya and son Shahad who achieved several state level awards in Mappila and Urdu songs.

There are a number of social bodies and clubs active in Kodiyathur exploring the art, instituting the education and involving in social activities over there. Major arts-sports and social bodies include Black Cobra Kodiyathur, Odessa, Majestic, Yuvachethana, Manchester and political and religious organizations like DYFI, Solidarity, MSM, MSF, SSF, SIO etc.,

WADI RAHMAH - the proud of Kodiyathur
 Our society always gives prominence to the protection of orphans and destitute. Though we appreciate the intention of the organizers of orphanages and poor homes a truth remains there. In almost all orphanages the inmates are living with a sense of insecurity. They lack something which is essential for their growth and development. It was in this circumstance that the Islahiya Association cherished a desire of establishing an ideal orphanage, a real home for the orphans where they get Parental affections. In the year 1989 this noble dream was fulfilled. WADI RAHMAH [the valley of mercy] AL – ISLAH ORPHANAGE was established at Kodiyathur in the east of Kozhikode district.They are proud to announce that it is an ideal valley of mercy toward orphans and destitute which provides all the requirements needed for the growth and development of inmates by inculcating intellectual, spiritual, physical and cultural values. Today they have around 200 inmates with them. They have a long list of inmates who have excelled in the academic and co-academic fields. Their children had opportunities to be first in the SSLC exam among the inmates of orphanages in the state several times. They have been winning the overall championship in Orphanages Fest in the past years. These achievements distinguish Wadi Rahma from other orphanages. Besides this, the facilities provided here are unique in its nature. They wish to contribute the same for ever. |
