Kodiyatur has a persistent legacy in arts as well as cultural activities. There were local poets and mappila artists lived in Kodiyathur during those olden era. The people of 
Kodiyathur composed the tunes of ‘Mappila Pattu’ in its original style, rhyme, rhythm and method.
Hussan Kodiyathur and his family still keep that reputation of the village, through his daughter Nadiya and son Shahad who achieved several state level awards in Mappila and Urdu songs.

There are a number of social bodies and clubs active in Kodiyathur exploring the art, instituting the education and involving in social activities over there.
